Emiko grew up in Redondo Beach, California, a coastal enclave in the laid-back South Bay region of Los Angeles County. Her fascination with living the island life sparked at age 12 on her first trip to Oahu, igniting a lifelong dream that became reality in 2022 when she left her corporate job in Los Angeles, answering a call for a simpler life on Maui.
After a decade in LA's corporate world, Emiko felt confined by office life and the fast pace of the city. Now, as a freelance graphic designer and artist, she's turning her dreams into reality, carving her path as a self-made creative. Her passion spans both traditional and digital mediums, focusing on graphic design, illustration, and painting, which serve as a canvas for her spiritual journey.
Her brand, Æthereal Alchemi, blends her nickname, "Emi," with inspiration from the book The Alchemist. The name reflects her journey of pursuing dreams and finding both personal and spiritual fulfillment. Emiko believes life is a dance of dualities—the æthereal and the physical—and that we all have the power to transform and shape our reality. With courage and mindfulness, she embraces the potential to create her own destiny.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Emiko often unwinds by meditating at the beach with her pup, Zephyr, free diving for shells, surfing and venturing with friends to discover hidden waterfalls, or exploring deeper knowledge of shamanism and esoteric subjects.
